Charity Donations 24th June 2016

The Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire East in association with the eighteen daughter lodges within the Province raised in excess of £2,500.00 for charity during their season.

Ten (10) local charities and organisations have benefited from these fund raising activities.
On Friday 24 June, 2016 the recipients were invited to a presentation ceremony within the premises of Lodge Scoon & Perth No. 3.

The charities and organisations were Perth and Kinross A.D.H.D Support Group, R.N.L.I., C.H.A.S., Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance, Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, The Macmillan Coffee Shop at Quarrymill, Perth and Kinross Visually Impaired Bowling Society, Perthshire Women's Aid, Move Ahead, and Diabetes UK. They received £250.00 each.

Pictured receiving the cheques from the Provincial Grand Master of Perthshire East are, left to right Dennis Nicol, R.N.L.I., John Walker, Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, Jackie Ahern, Perth and Kinross A.D.H.D., Support Group, Ruth MacKay, Macmillan Coffee Shop, John Duff, C.H.A.S. and Mike Beale, Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance. They are pictured along with a number of guests and lodge members.

Mr. Forbes stated that due to other commitments the other recipients were unable to attend, but that their donations would be forwarded to them. He further stated that this had been a particular busy year for the Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire East and the Daughter Lodges. They not only raised funds for these charities and organisations but were instrumental in raising a substantial amount which was donated to Prostrate Scotland at a recent charity zip line challenge which was held over the River Clyde. In addition the local lodges support a number of local charities and organisations within their own towns and villages throughout Perthshire.
